Today we were lucky enough to have Dr Tobias visit us as part of our concept on change. Dr Tobias is an anesthetist at Masterton Hospital. He shared with us about being an anesthetist and the types of personal qualities you need to find success in this profession. He also shared about the catalysts in his life that were factors in his success (we have been talking about Gagne's Differentiated Model of Giftedness and Talent)
Dr Tobias then introduced us to some of his 'tools of the trade' and how they had changed over time. He then talked to us about the affects of the medicine that is administered during an operation on the body and how those affects are managed.
We all had a go at inter bating the dummy to see if we could get him breathing. Lots of discussion on change and also the medical profession. Heaps of team work too!
