End of Term 2

It has been an incredibly last few weeks at ODC. We have had bring a buddy day and in celebration of Gifted Awareness Week, Open Days and Talent Challenges!

Our talent challenges are now finished, so if you'd like to find out how we got on and if you're interested in making a donation you can visit us at  http://www.everydayhero.co.nz/search/heroes?search_type=keywords&terms=gifted

Thanks for all the support that was given to us by our friends, family and schools!

Here are some photos covering the last few week. A real jumbled up eclectic mix!

Talent Challenge Week! Emily reading, Jean writing poetry, Maggie writing a children's story and Rebekah researching and writing a presentation on big cats!
Grace working on her maths challenge! 100 maths problems in 1 hour!

Melissa played the piano for 1 hour for her talent challenge.
Gallagher loves all things medieval,  so for his challenge he designed and made a battering ram! And yes, it worked!

Zac brought in his dad's 'brick' phone so we could see just how the cell phone has evolved over the years.

We compared and noted the changes through the use of our debatable truths.

Melissa working on some kitchen science for her exploring talent.

Artist - Tina-Rae Carter

We worked with local visual artist, Tina-Rae Carter, during the first 4 weeks of this term. We  created visual images of CHANGE after much discussion and inspiration from Tina. We had a choice of media to work with our first 'hands-on' session being made up of mixed media. From there we moved on to printing and finally we showed CHANGE through claymation. We will share our masterpieces early next term with an exhibition.

Tina inspiring us and showing us all the media we can sue to show our creativity!
