WEEK 9 - Trip to Wellington

The hill stayed open long enough for us to get over to Wellington for our much anticipated and planned GKPSI Trip...........Gifted Kids Pattern Search Investigation!! The weather was at its worst, so Te Papa had the pleaseure of hosting us for the morning before we made our way to Capital E's- The SoundHouse.

Our mission, as one of the finest detective agencies in the country, was to see if the rumour 'PATTERNS are taking over our city' was correct. We searched Te Papa to get an idea of how wide spread the problem might be. We had to collect evidence of our findings and stay under cover!!!

We had to.....
* collect evidence of patterns in each of the pattern types areas
- BEAUTY
- ORDER
- STRENGTH
- SURVIVAL

* Collect evidence of patterns in each of the Debatable Tryth areas
- A pattern repeats
- A pattern is a whole made up of several parts
- A pattern is natural or manmade
- A pattern has a purpose
- A pattern is used to predict

* Collect evidence of patterns in human behaviour

We then had numerous tasks that we could choose to do like;
* purchasing an item that demonstrated a pattern or part of a pattern (this was a popular one!)
* Collecting evidence of a broken pattern
* Creating and leaving behind a pattern
* Surveying people about patterns

One of the tasks was leave a pattern behind in the city. This is what one group did.










We then had a wonderful afternoon at The SoundHouse, using SONY ACID EXPRESS to create our own music.

The hill was kind enough to stay open for our return home.....although we heard it did shut not long after we made it back to Lakeview.
